If you use facebook, have any of your friend requests been denied?

Do you agree that those that deny friend requests are ignorant minded meaning that they are very snobbish and shouldn't be on there unless they have an open mind on meeting new people? After all, isn't that what sites like that are about anyway, meeting new people?
