Cheapest region to live in italy?

am waiting a few years for my youngest to graduate and then i am going to live in italy (my grandparents came from sicily) am interested in meager living arrangements for myself alone...nothing fancy...small, clean...i will have a small amount of $ to live on each month...i understand is very difficult to find work...but i am talented and hopeful...i work for a hotel chain that transfers employees and am going to look into that further with my supervisor....have done some research and find conflicting info...some sites say rimini is cheap living...others say corleone and surrounding...but i have no clue....would love to find family there before i go over and maybe they would help but there are thousands of gaglianos and my grandparents have ped, along with any helpful info...any ideas???
